A lot of people today still think their own sign is all there is to Astrology but of course, this simply is not true. Everything depends on the TIME we were born. This TIME of birth determines what sign was on the horizon. The sign that was on the horizon at the TIME of our birth is called our RISING SIGN. This sign is very important since it tells us what sort of temperament we have, and what other signs of the zodiac we get along with. It is important, also, in the reading of a Horoscope and makes that reading much more personal, especially if combined with our own sign. Our own sign describes our basic urges - Our Rising Sign describes what sort of temperament we have. When you read your Horoscope, read and blend BOTH your signs for a more accurate portrayal of yourself, and a more accurate prediction!

If you know your time of birth and have a printer and a pair of scissors, you can find your rising sign. Print this page and cut out the smaller circle with the times on it. Place the small circle into the center of the "signs" circle. Turn the smaller circle until your time of birth lines up with the center of your birth sign. Which-ever sign the arrow (6:00 AM side) points at is your rising sign. If the arrow points between two signs, read them both and see which one is the most accurate for you. If the arrow points to your own birth sign, this means that you are double that sign. (You have to read it twice). Actually... you don't have to read it twice, but it would mean that whatever the horoscope is telling about that particular sign, goes double for you! If you do not know your birth time, you will have to use the process of elimination. Read each sign in the horoscopes and see which one seems to fit what is going on in your life. Not very scientific, but you would be surprised how often this method has accurately found a rising sign.
For those born in the Eastern Hemisphere, the 6:00 PM side of the arrow points to your rising sign.
